1. I lived in another state besides Texas...Utah. It was cold. Enough said. I had tons and tons of fun and met so many great friends. It was nice to be close to my extended family and to Sherese and Steve.
2. I was called to be the Relief Society President of my ward at BYU. It was a very humbling experience and I learned so much in a short amount of time. When the Lords calls you to do something you do it. It doesn't matter your age, experience, or whether or not you think you are qualified. You do it and do it well.
3. I moved back to ATX!!! It is nice being with my family again!
4. I was an EFY counselor in Denton, TX and San Antonio, TX. Seriously I think everyone should be an EFY counselor. It was so much fun! I want to do it again this summer but it probably wont work in my schedule.
5. I finally decided what I want to do with my life. This is a big step for me because sometimes I am so indecisive. I want to be a nurse. I love the human body and I wanted to do something in the health world. It is a great field to get into. I'm excited!
6. My Best Friend got married. (Actually it was the end of 2007 but I think it still counts for 2008).
7. My sister had a baby boy. Benson is the first nephew in our family. This is a big accomplishment since there are so many girls in my family!
8. I went to Disney World. It really is a magical place!
9. I was a cabin mom at girls camp.
10. I went camping in Hurricane, Utah. Every year my extended family goes camping in St. George, Ut over easter weekend. My family only went a couple times because we were in Texas. Luckily my sister and her family, my brother, and I were able to go this year. My birthday happened to be the same weekend. It was a blast and I love camping.
11. I went to Florida for Thanksgiving. We went to Disney World, Palm Beach, and then down to the Florida Keys. It is beautiful there and I love the weather!
12. I was in the southern most part of the United States and only 60 miles away from Cuba. I thought about swimming over but then realized that would be a bad idea. This was in Key West Florida.
13. I went snorkeling for the first time. I would totally do it again!
12. Witnessed my first death. On our way to Palm Beach we witnessed a terrible accident. We stopped and helped but the mother didn't make it. It was a very sobering experience.
13. Gave in and started the Harry Potter books. I haven't finished them. I think I'm on book 5.
14. I met Sister Beck. My Bishops wife at BYU was Sister Beck's Stake Relief Society President. She was giving a special fireside to the sisters of that stake and our ward got invited. She is an amazing woman!
15. Rediscovered my talent of drawing. I took a drawing class at BYU. Who would have thought that I can draw!
16. Learned how to play tennis. I took a tennis class at BYU. It was a blast! I love it!
That basically covers 2008 in a nut shell. It was a great year! I learned many things about my self and about life in general. I'm grateful for the many wonderful friends and family members that I have. I truly am blessed and could not be more grateful for the life I have. What a Wonderful Life!!!!!
